Size and Fit Guide
Size & Fit Guide Policy
At Gravity NYC, we want to help you find the perfect fit on the first try. Because fit can vary depending on the cut, fabric, and style of an item, we recommend confirming the sizing details before you purchase. Since we carry a wide variety of brands, we recommend consulting the original manufacturers sizing recommendations where available. If you are unsure about any details, you may contact us to confirm.
Please review the policy guidelines below to ensure you select the correct size before placing your order.
1. General Sizing Overview
Standard Sizing: Our items generally follow US Standard sizing metrics except where noted otherwise. Some items may have variations in sizing due to manufacturers country of origin or conversion of sizes between measurements. If you are not sure of which size scale is being used, please reach out to us directly to confirm.
2. Understanding Fit Categories
To help you visualize how a garment will sit on your body, manufacturers usually categorize three items into three primary fit styles:
Skinny / Slim Fit: Cut closer to the body for a tailored, snug silhouette. If you prefer a looser feel, we recommend sizing up.
Regular / True to Size Fit: Follows the natural contours of the body with standard ease. Order your usual size.
Oversized / Relaxed Fit: Intentionally cut with extra room and drape for comfort. If you want a more traditional fit, consider sizing down.
3. Fabric Stretch & Shrinkage Disclosures
Stretch Factors: Items containing spandex, elastane, or knit constructions offer significant stretch. Structured fabrics like rigid denim, linen, and 100% cotton do not stretch. Please factor this into your choice if you are between sizes.
Shrinkage: Pre-washed garments experience minimal shrinkage. For items made of unwashed natural fibers (like 100% linen, rayon, or cotton), please expect shrinkage after the first wash depending on cleaning and drying method.
4. How to Measure Yourself
For the most accurate fit, we recommend measuring your body using a flexible fabric tape measure while wearing lightweight undergarments:
Bust/Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape horizontal.
Waist: Measure around your narrowest natural waistline (typically right above your belly button).
Hips: Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam: Measure from the crotch point down to your ankle bone along the inside of your leg.
5. Return Restrictions Due to Sizing
While we happily accept returns and exchanges in accordance with our policies, please note:
Final sale: Items marked as final sale will not be eligible for return/exchange/refund.

Shoe Sizing & Fit Policy
At Gravity NYC, we want to ensure your new shoes fit perfectly from the very first step. Because different footwear styles, profiles, and materials drastically alter how a shoe sits on your foot, we provide comprehensive sizing metrics below.
Please read our sizing guidelines and conversion rules before placing your order.
1. International Shoe Size Conversion Chart
Our items generally follow US Standard sizing metrics except where noted otherwise. Some items may have variations in sizing due to manufacturers country of origin or conversion of sizes between measurements. If you are not sure of which size scale is being used, please reach out to us directly to confirm.
2. Sizing Profiles & Material Notes
The construction material heavily influences whether you should size up, size down, or stay true to your measured size:
Genuine Leather & Suede: Natural leather possesses natural elasticity. It will stretch up to a half-size over your first 2 to 4 wears to mold perfectly to your foot shape. If they feel slightly snug (but not painful) out of the box, they will soften.
Synthetics, Canvas, & Mesh: Synthetic materials and woven performance meshes do not stretch over time. They retain their exact factory-cut size. If you fall between sizes, we recommend sizing up.
Sock Liners & Insulated Footwear: Boots featuring shearling, faux-fur, or thick thermal insulation have less interior volume. We recommend sizing up one full size if you plan to wear thick winter socks.
3. How to Accurately Measure Your Feet
Do not guess your shoe size based on an older pair of shoes from a different brand. Follow these steps at home using a standard sheet of paper, a pencil, and a ruler:
1. Measure at Night: Your feet naturally swell and expand throughout the day due to walking and heat. Always measure your feet in the afternoon or evening for the most accurate fit.
2. Trace Your Foot: Place the paper flat on the floor against a wall. Stand firmly on the paper with your heel lightly touching the wall. Have someone trace the outline of your foot, keeping the pencil perpendicular to the paper.
3. Measure the Length: Use a ruler to measure the distance from the edge of the paper (your heel) to the tip of your longest toe.
4. Account for Both Feet: It is completely normal for one foot to be slightly larger than the other. Always choose your shoe size based on the measurement of your larger foot.
4. Return Restrictions Due to Sizing
While we happily accept returns and exchanges in accordance with our policies, please note:
Final sale: Items marked as final sale will not be eligible for return/exchange/refund.
